Barangay Napo, Loon is still holding the title as the grand champion of the Sandugo Festival’s Street Dancing and Showdown competition after the announcement last July 28, 2018. Not only that, they also won most of the same awards as the previous year. They were able to take home a total of 345 thousand pesos after being declared as Best in Kuradang Pair (Kuradang King and Queen), Best in Production Design and Costume, Best in Street Dancing and Grand Champion of the Showdown.
The contingent of the municipality of Tubigon was declared as the first runner-up with a cash prize of 250 thousand pesos.
The contingent of the municipality of Dauis also took home 210 thousand pesos after being declared as Best in Music and second runner-up.
Others contingents include Baclayon, Balilihan, Bilar, Jagna, Catigbian (Catigbian Nation HS), Garcia Hernandez, Loboc (Camayaan HS), Sikatuna and Sierra Bullones (Ducita National HS).
This year’s theme of the Sandugo Festival is Bangga sa Kuradang and Bangga sa Kabilin ug Kulturang Bol-anon. It highlighted the rich culture of each participating municipalities. It was a good venue to promote their towns. For this year, Sandugo Festival has given a total of P805,000 for all the awards.
